Access windows by mode
The official conditions allow for outages, time-zone differences and changes in platform availability. A listed start date alone does not establish a precise unlock hour. All platforms named for Campaign access include Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PS5, Battle.net, Steam and Switch 2.
| Mode | Announced start | Qualifying purchase | Status of the evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Campaign | October 16, 2026 (PT date) | Qualifying digital Standard or Vault pre-order / pre-purchase | Official announcement and support conditions |
| DMZ | October 20, 2026 (PT date) | Qualifying digital pre-order / pre-purchase | Official support conditions |
| Multiplayer | No separate early access window verified | Use the full release schedule | Do not infer access from Campaign or DMZ |
| Beta | Past August–September windows | Historical beta rules only | Ended; different event |
Check your eligibility before buying again
The checked support page describes early access as a digital-edition benefit. A physical Standard purchase should not be assumed to include it. Avoid purchasing a second copy simply because a different mode is still locked; first distinguish a license issue from an unopened window.
- Open your existing order and confirm it is the digital game for the platform you are using.
- Check that the storefront account showing the purchase is the one signed in on your device.
- Read the edition’s own current terms, especially if a retailer sold a code or a different regional product.
- Install the content for the mode you intend to play, then check for a launcher or game update.
If access is missing
Record the platform, storefront, edition, mode and exact error message. Compare those details with your receipt and the official support article. If the store does not recognize ownership, contact that store. If ownership appears correctly but the mode remains unavailable, use Activision Support with the same details.
Do not send passwords, recovery codes or complete payment details to a fan website. COD MW4 Guide cannot add a license, redeem an account entitlement or investigate an account ban. Our contact channel is for site corrections and source questions.
How early access changes at full launch
These dates describe the pre-release access benefit. They are not a permanent separate version or evidence that every mode launched early. At full release, use your edition, installed content and platform’s unlock rule to determine access. The historical dates remain useful when checking an order or an old promotional claim.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Vault Edition for early access?
The official Campaign announcement includes both Standard Digital and Vault. Check the digital pre-order terms for your storefront and the DMZ support conditions.
Is a beta code enough?
No. A beta code belonged to the past beta event and does not establish ownership of the full game or its early access benefits.
